The boots have been dusted off, the scarves are coming out, the hats are being pulled on and our diaries are quickly filling up with festive gatherings. It can only mean one thing – Christmas is on its way. And there’s no shortage of magical local events taking place across Rugby and Daventry, to help put a sparkle in your step as we countdown until Christmas Day.

At The George at Kilsby, we’re already busy preparing for the big event. So, whether you’re enjoying our extra special Christmas Menu on Christmas Day, tucking into a dish from our Festive Menu alongside family, friends or colleagues or dusting off the cobwebs on Boxing Day, The George at Kilsby is the place to dine this Christmas time.

Team your visit to The George at Kilsby with one of the many fantastic local events that are taking place in Rugby and Daventry. Here we explore some of the events that are jingling our bells this Christmas time:

Rugby Town Christmas Lights Switch On: Sunday 19th November (midday until 6pm)

It would be remiss of us not to start with the Rugby Town Christmas Lights Switch On. And if you haven’t already got the memo, East 17 – best known for their chart-topping Christmas hit ‘Stay Another Day’ – are booked to turn the lights on.

Daventry Christmas Market and Festivities: Saturday 25th November (10am – 3pm) FREE

Guaranteed festive fun for all the family, the Daventry Christmas Market is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.

Complete with Santa and his reindeer, along with a giant snow globe, festive face painting, a choir, Christmas crafts and a Christmas tree trail, this isn’t one to miss. Plus it’s free entry.

Rugby Christmas Market: Sunday 26th November (10am until 3pm) and 3rd December (10am until 3pm)

If you’re looking to find unique and handcrafted gifts while enjoying live entertainment, then head to Rugby Christmas Market. The team are putting on two dates, both promising to be equally festive: Sunday 26th November taking place in Newbold Road Car Park and 3rd December in Caldecott Park.

Rugby Christmas Fair: Sunday 26th November (11am until 2pm)

Alongside the Christmas Market on 26th November, Rugby’s Benn Hall will once again be hosting its annual Christmas Fair. More than 60 local crafters are set to attend, with festive decorations, jewellery and candles among the items ready to be explored.

The Big Christmas Sing 2023: Sunday 17th December (7.30pm)

Following on from its successful debut event in 2022, The Big Christmas Sing is returning to Rugby for 2023. Around 80 voices are expected to take to the stage, alongside four special guest solo singers to create a spectacular Christmas show, complete with a whole host of festive favourites. All ages are welcome, with songs for both grandchildren and grandparents alike.

If you are thinking about taking your child to the concert, then we’ve heard Father Christmas might be making a special appearance too. Tickets for children are £12, with adults priced at £15.

Carols by Candlelight: Sunday 17th December (6pm)

With just a week to go until the big day, St Faith’s Church, in the heart of Kilsby, will be hosting its annual Carols by Candlelight once again. If you’re heading to the service, why don’t you end your evening with a heartwarming meal or cosy hot chocolate at The George at Kilsby?
